Our "Why"

Lakeside Beach Volleyball is hosting "Volleyball for a Cause" to raise awareness of Leukemia.

On January 5, 2023 - we suddenly gained an angel. 2 days after a diagnosis, Nicole lost her battle to Leukemia. She was surrounded by her soon-to-be husband, her family, and close friends. She was walking sunshine in every way. We now, play for her. We invite all participating athletes, members of the community, and friends to join us in celebrating Nicole's life and to wear orange on the day of the event. In addition, we will be raffling a variety of baskets and prizes throughout each day of the tournament.

100% of all proceeds will be donated to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society for others battling this horrific disease.

Saturday Feb. 25th Tournament Details: 

• Check in for MENS & WOMENS AA will begin at 8:30am. Play will begin at 9:00am. Please feel free to arrive as early as 8:00am to begin setting up.
• Check in for CO-ED AA/A will begin at 4:00pm. Play will begin at 4:30pm. 
• Location: 2020 South Dean Rd. Orlando, Florida 32825
• Water will be provided for all athletes. 
• Gatorades and Celsius will be sold as well as raffle tickets on site.
• Please bring your own shade.
• We encourage all teams to wear orange in honor of our cause. 
• Outdoor shower available. Porta-potty available only. 
• All divisions will participate in pool play and then be seeded in a single elimination bracket.

Sunday Feb. 26th Tournament Details:

• Check in will begin at 9:00am. Play will begin at 9:30am. Please feel free to arrive as early as 8:30am to begin setting up.
• Location: 2020 South Dean Rd. Orlando, Florida 32825
• Water will be provided for all athletes. 
• Please bring your own shade.
• We encourage all teams to wear orange in honor of our cause. 
• Outdoor shower available. Porta-potty available only. 
• Prizes will be earned for 1st place and 2nd place if there are 6 teams in your division. 
• All divisions will participate in pool play and then be seeded in a single elimination bracket.

Registration Process:

• $25.00 AVP Silver membership is required to enter this tournament. The membership can be purchased with the link provided. Your membership is valid for one year after purchase date. 
• AVP America Membership purchase
• Cash will be the only accepted form of payment. Please come prepared to pay with cash on the morning of the tournament, February 25th and/or the morning of February 26th. 
• $80 per team ($40 per player)

Parking:

• Location: 2020 South Dean Rd. Orlando, Florida 32825
• The dirt road can seem hidden but is accessible directly off of Dean Rd. There will be a small Lakeside Beach Volleyball sign posted by the road for assistance. 
• Speed limit is a STRICT 5 mph entering the dirt road that leads to the tournament courts. Please abide by the speed limit.
